We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and collaborative individual with the desire to be part of a brand new school; to help shape, develop and ensure the success of our new-build secondary school. The school opened in September 2016 with Year 7, growing to a roll of 1200 students, aged 11-16, by September 2020, with a final phase addition of a sixth form to follow.
This role will have overall responsibility for leading and developing the site team to ensure high standards of operational effectiveness and to help deliver the aims and ethos of the school. It involves a blend of both physically demanding activity, as well as administrative duties. The successful post holder needs to have skills to lead a team effectively but also be willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. The ability to communicate effectively is essential.
The role involves oversight of Health and Safety, responsibility for ensuring the security of the site and buildings both in term time and school holidays and ensure the maintenance of the site and the servicing of equipment such as heating, lighting, air-conditioning and alarm systems on a regular basis.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of catering, cleaning and grounds maintenance contracts and will have key-holder responsibilities. These may extend beyond regular working hours on a rota basis to cater for emergencies at any time, day or night. The school offers a generous holiday entitlement.
The appointee will be closely involved in the strategic development of the site and take project leadership of building improvement plans.
