School Travel Update for 2017

October 19th, 2016

We have been collecting  postcodes of those who visited our open events to help us look into travel plans for September 2017 admissions. We are pleased to feedback that numbers show sufficient interest to warrant a service and we have had very promising discussions with a bus provider and are confident we can provide some solutions. The identified service would be likely to have pick ups/drop offs in Winnersh, Lower Earley and Three Mile Mile Cross, with the potential to incorporate Spencer’s Wood and the upper part of Woosehill as necessary. The annual price is estimated to be in the region of £600 per year, although subsidies may be available to reduce this.

Other routes are also being looked into on our behalf.
Taking into account the confirmation from Wokingham Borough Council that we received last week that the safe walking and cycle routes associated with the nine mile ride extension will be ready for September 2017, we are confident that the vast majority of families will have a transport option for next September.
Given the school location, we know that transport was a key sticking point for many parents and a big factor affecting choices of secondary school for next September.
We hope this will be welcome news to existing and prospective parents currently making their  school place decisions. Prospective parents please note that if you have already submitted your application for a school place you can edit your application until the closing date of 31st October.
If you have any questions about this please contact the school and we will try to speak to you as soon as possible.
