As an academy, we are our own admissions authority, which means we are independent from the local education authority. We are, however, covered by the School Admissions Code, which provides a legal framework for our admissions criteria. Consultation on Proposal to Change the School Admission Policy for 2020-21
As a result of the growth of the Bohunt Education Trust, which now comprises 8 schools, the BET board has recognised the differences in individual school contexts and given permission for each trust school to change the provisions in their admission policies for siblings.
This is the only change under current consideration. The Local Governing body has considered this and chosen to consult on a policy change to allow all siblings, whether in catchment or out of catchment to have equal priority, under criteria 4 of the admissions policy. Please click here for the proposed policy.
One of the key considerations in reaching this proposal was the very small number of students this will apply to each year from 2021 onwards.
The consultation for this will commence from Friday 14th December and finish on Friday 25th January, after which the Local Governing Body will make a final decision.
If you wish to feedback your views on this policy change, please email your response to firstname.lastname@example.org before 25th January using Admissions Policy Consultation as the subject of your email.
