At Bohunt Wokingham, the safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where every child is respected, supported, and able to thrive.
We follow the statutory guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and have clear policies and procedures in place to safeguard all members of our community. All staff and governors receive regular safeguarding training to ensure they can recognise and respond to concerns appropriately.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Sophia Martinez, supported by a team of trained Deputy DSLs. They work closely with students, families, staff, and external agencies to promote children’s welfare and to protect them from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

For Visitors
All visitors must sign in at Reception and wear a visitor badge at all times while on site. Visitors are not allowed to use student toilets. If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a student, please report these immediately to Mrs Sophia Martinez (DSL) or a Deputy DSL. If you are unable to locate a safeguarding lead, please speak to any member of staff who will ensure the concern is passed on without delay.

Good attendance is essential for students’ success, both academically and personally. At Bohunt Wokingham, we expect students to achieve as close to 100% attendance as possible, so they can fully participate in all aspects of school life.
When your child is unwell you must inform the school on the first morning of absence and, for safeguarding purposes, provide daily updates. Please report the absence via the Studybugs app or please speak to one of our reception team via phone call or email (info@bohuntwokingham.com)

We ask that where possible you do not book routine medical appointments during the school day. Where this is not possible please ensure that your child attends school both before and /or after the appointment time as applicable.
For any planned absence you must submit a Leave of Absence Request Form in good time, please return it to the school reception info@bohuntwokingham.com.
If you take your child on holiday it will be recorded as unauthorised absence in all circumstances, and Penalty Notices will be issued in accordance with Wokingham Borough Council’s Code of Conduct. Every case will be reviewed on an individual basis
Punctuality:
Students should aim to arrive at school no later than 8.38 am (gates close at this time), and they must be at their tutor room no later than 8.40 am. If your child arrives to school late they may receive a detention which will be set for the break time of the same day.

Bullying is not the same as someone being unkind or mean to another person — although this is also unacceptable.
Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. It can be physical, verbal, or psychological, and can happen face-to-face or online.
If you are concerned about bullying, please report it to a trusted adult.

In addition an additional anti-bullying assembly in each term to ensure awareness is raised throughout the year.
As a school, we proudly support National Anti-Bullying Week, which takes place each year.
This year, Anti-Bullying Week will run from Monday 10 – Friday 14 November 2025.
