The PE department holds the very highest of standards for students during lessons and whilst representing the school in Sport. We ask that students arrive for all lessons ready to learn and with the correct equipment. If a student does not have the correct equipment then the teachers will sanction through our centralised detention system:
If you cannot take part in the lesson, i.e. you cannot remove jewellery or you do not bring the correct footwear, this carries a sanction of a one hour centralised detention as the student has missed out on learning.
If you can take part however have incorrect items, i.e. you are wearing the wrong socks, this carries a sanction of a 30 minute centralised detention as the student has not had correct equipment, however learning has not been lost.
If your kit is incorrect for a reason out of your control, please bring a note to explain the different kit (but this needs to be all black)
Co-curricular Activity:
Co-curricular kit has the same expectations as the kit expectation in lessons.
Injury and Illness:
If a student is ill / injured and is therefore unable to take part in a practical PE lesson, parents / guardians should send a dated and signed note for the attention of the PE department.
If the illness / injury is considered long term / ongoing the parents / guardians should provide a doctor’s note to advise PE staff of this.
In the event that a student is unable to take part in a PE lesson the student must still bring their PE kit. Injured and ill students will still change into full kit. The only exception will be when students are unable to physically change due to the injury impairing their ability to do so without assistance. (For example a fractured arm resulting in a cast).
