Ox heart dissections, explosive science experiments, Food Tech creations, dance rehearsals and marshmallow roasting were just some of the highlights enjoyed by over 1400 visitors at the 2026 open evening at Bohunt Wokingham School.
Prospective parents and pupils flocked to the school in Arborfield last week to enjoy addresses from the Headteacher, Head Students and current Year 7 pupils. The atmosphere was incredibly positive, with prospective students and their families meeting staff and students and immersing themselves in a range of exciting activities and experiences, guided and encouraged by current students.
The event provided the opportunity for prospective parents and pupils to learn more about the school, which ensures that individual students are known, nurtured and challenged. In addition, Bohunt Wokingham provides students with unparalleled opportunities inside and outside the classroom and ensures that all young people have access to excellence in education. The school is part of the high-achieving Bohunt Education Trust, whose ethos of ‘enjoy respect achieve’ is based around the highest expectations and the aim to develop young people into ‘game-changers’.
Jen Comber, Headteacher, said:
“It was incredibly exciting to welcome potential new members of our community and we are looking forward to continuing to engage with them through our Open Mornings so that they can make an informed choice about whether to apply to us by the end of October.
I was particularly pleased to be able to share with these families that we welcomed our first Year 12 cohort to our brand new Sixth Form building in September, and to encourage them to view the state-of-the-art facilities as part of their tour. We are delighted to be able to offer our incoming Year 7s a high quality education right through from 11-18 years.
We are looking forward to welcoming the next generation of game-changers to Bohunt Wokingham as we celebrate our 10th year serving our local community.”
