Intent

Our vision in the Physical Education department is that all learners develop the skills and confidence to consider themselves as Game Changers who belong in a multicultural, mutually respectful world. We support students to develop Physical Literacy, experiencing a wide range and variety of sports whilst also learning the science behind physical activity. All students will leave Bohunt Wokingham with knowledge of how a healthy active lifestyle will benefit them socially, mentally and physically so they remain engaged in Sport / Physical Activity beyond their time at School.

• Our curriculum engages students in a wide variety of team and individual sports, developing a broad range of skills that can be used outside of our subject.
• Pupils are provided with numerous opportunities both in lessons and through the co-curricular program, to allow them to find an activity they want to continue beyond Bohunt.
• Pupils have opportunities in the classroom that promote teamwork and develops communication skills, through participation in team sports and activities that require working with others that can be used in wider life.
• Our curriculum is based on the concept of ‘Sport for All’, allowing pupils to grow individually, building on their own confidence and resilience through having a safe learning environment to participate in, that is supportive and allows pupils to take risks to experience and learn from.
